Tim Cook: 50 Billion Apps Downloaded; 900,000 Apps Available

Apple CEO Tim Cook took the stage during WWDC 2013 and said that users have downloaded more than 50 billion apps from the iTunes App store to date. The store turns 5 years old next week. Cook also noted that there are 900,000 iOS apps available to download as well as 375,000 applications specifically for the iPad. 93 percent of all of those apps are downloaded each month, too.

Cook noted that there are now 575 million accounts and that developers have been paid $10 billion in revenue so far. Cook will reveal plenty of additional information today, so stay tuned for more information.
